I bought one for my porch, as I like to sit outside in the evenings and relax. The mosquitoes are horrible where I live and thought this would be a good choice, as Off! stopped making their best mosquitoe repellent. Boy was i wrong!! I've had a week and the mosquitoes are still biting me. Don't waste your money!

Worked ok for one summer

It worked ok when we bought it last summer but this year it doesn't light. It seems the flint or the flint mechanism has failed and there doesn't seem to be any way to get into it to fix it. It was indoors all winter

Works wonders

I’m highly susceptible to bug bites, esp mosquitos, and typically have to limit my outdoor time and use strong bug sprays. We bought this prior to camping in a wooded area. I did not need sprays and ended up with one bite!! It’s amazing. We purchased the non rechargeable option for our camping trip and will be looking for a rechargeable option for home/daily use. I strongly recommend trying this device.

A: To your question, yes they are a little expensive, but they do work and hold off the mosquitos for roughly three nights, if used for two to three hours for each night.

A: I have not used the Thermacell at a higher level, but I would assume it would work. If it’s at table height it does keep the mosquitoes from you ankles.

A: No, it cannot be left outside. The element cannot get wet so it must be taken in. Even if left outside and covered but with high humidity, the repellent element doesn’t work.
