I used this instead of going for an epoxy coating because it is more durable in Canadian winters according to the online information. I won't have a good idea until we get through the winter which is just starting but it seems durable so far. It looks good and the flecks give it a nice look. There are several good online videos about how to apply it (too late now unless you have a heated garage) and as with most painting preparation is the most important step. Amazing product that lasts. After 9 years the garage floor still looks great. Just make sure to clean, prep and dry the floor before starting.

After comparing several products including professional grade coatings I decided to go with the Rock Solid floor coating kit because of its price compared to the professional grades, the reviews, and the product details make it look worth the extra money over the Epoxy Shield product which I used 10 years ago in the house garage. I spent the time to make sure the concrete was degreased, cracks and missing chunks were filled, the floor was mechanically sanded and etched and thoroughly cleaned afterwords. Be sure to watch several independent you tube videos and read the instructions. If there is a lump in one part of the product bag then work it out before mixing the two bags, etc. Do not try to stretch it out or you will be left with the texture of the concrete underneath. Fortunately I figured that out after only rolling out a 4 foot by 2 foot section but not before sprinkling the paint chips on so I couldn’t add more so it doesn’t look so good. After that I was a little more liberal with the product and did a lot of rolling over every section. If you can hear the roller sticking or making that noise like when you are painting a wall then you are stretching it too far. You have approximately 1 hour for each pouch so don’t rush and keep rolling in every direction you can reach. If you roll and you can see product moving with the roller then you need to stretch it out more. I found that doing it this way will get you 140-160 square feet of coverage with no concrete texture showing through. After leaving it for three days to dry at outside temperatures of 8-15 degrees Celsius it looks great. Then I swept it to get any loose flakes off and found that the broom left the odd scuff line so am going to go ahead and put the top clear coat on as well. However, this will almost double the cost as the clear cost is just as pricy as the floor coating. Pros: looks great, smooth Cons: pricy, doesn’t cover as advertised, will likely need a clear coat to make it last longer

Got 4 kits to cover my 800 sqft garage. 2 of the boxes had stains on the outside. I now have the floor done but has already peeled in 2 spots.

Works but expensive. Was cheaper at Canadian Tire. I bought extra coloured chips but wish I bought more as I was not very good at applying them. If you use the chips, the top coat is essential in my opinion. I used it to cover plywood in an enclosed trailer. Looks great but when you add up the primer, coating, extra chips, top coat and painting supplies it is not cheap. Cost is close to having rubber floor installed but nonetheless cheaper. Chose this product because I did no want to cut out rubber around the l-track slots.
