Great product, great coverage.

Great product, great coverage. I painted a deck that hadn't been painted in several years. This product soaked right into the wood and provided a great even look and hopefully will protect the deck for years to come. My only concern was that I ran out of it and went to my local Canadian Tire and they had also run out of it making me drive to the next closest store in another town.

Seems good paint

Nice paint goes on well and cover nicely, hopefully it will last longer than our previous paint on our deck.

Should be labeled BLUE not light grey.

Bought this last week. Absolutely horrible colour. It’s nowhere near light grey. It’s dang near baby blue. I got sucked thinking the 2-1 primer was the better option. Nope.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent porch paint.

I painted my deck with Black & Decker Acrylic Polymer Porch & Floor Coating Paint a couple months ago. Applied easily with a roller. Still looks great. Doesn't scratch easily. Remember, apply paint to clean surface after the heat of the day, no direct sunlight as your deck is cooling. The paint will be drawn into the wood fibers.

Questions

Q: Why is this deck coating not curing? After severy weeks of hot dry weather, in shade or sun, it is still slightly tacky and shows footprints.!

  • A: OK, Have gone back to CanTyr and looked at the paint can. The warranty support is by Denalt, and they may be the manufacturer, no response to my message to them yet, but just sent yesterday. Will let you know what response I get. Deck is still tacky, but may be getting less so. When it gets dusty I suspect that'll be it. But it still shows footprints. Bought the paint because of the specs, and gave it a good review because it covers well. No-one mentioned tacky.

Q: I want to use this on an exterior plywood floor and there will be places that water can sit will this let lose or bubble in extend periods of being wet.

1 Answer
  • Black&DeckerPaintSupport

A: Hello, this question is a bit tricky, as the outcome depends on how long the water will remain in contact with the surface. The product is designed to be weather resistant, meaning it won't bubble or lose its adhesion if it occasionally gets wet or if water sit on certain spots. However, if certain spots are consistently submerged underwater, over time, it may start to bubble or lose adhesion because it's not specifically formulated for underwater use. Before exposing the painted surface to water, it's important to allow it to dry for a minimum of 24 hours.

Q: est-ce antidérapant ?

1 Answer
  • A: Notre peinture à plancher est compatible avec les additifs antidérapants, mais ils ne sont pas dans le produit à l’origine. L'additif antidérapant peut être appliqué avant que la peinture ne sèche, en le jetant en l'air sur la peinture humide. Our floor paint is compatible with anti-slip additives, but they are not in the product originally. The anti-slip additive can be applied before the paint dries, by throwing it in the air on top of the wet paint.

Q: Would this work on a covered fiberglass house deck?

1 Answer
  • A: No, it cannot be applied directly over uncoated fiberglass. Fiberglass is a unique surface to coat. If the right primer is used or if the current coating adheres well, our product could work over it. For this type of substrate, always conduct a small inconspicuous area test for 48 hours before applying it all over.
