Poor when compared to the SE3

SE2s were on sale but they had only 2 in my car's size, so I had to get two SE3s. The SE3s have twice the tread remaining after 4 summers. (I run these only in Summer"

Q: SE and SE2 tires together I was thinking of buying three Motomaster SE2 tires to replace the old LXR's as they are showing cracks in the sidewall due to sun and age. This should not be a problem 3 of SE2's and one SE?

    • A: The first answer tells you to contact the tire expert at the local store, and that answer was given by a Canadian Tire Expert??? I don't get it. Why just not give or find the answer than pass the buck? If the car could have an SE1 tire, I am sure it could run on SE2 tires. The 2 tires are not too much different from each other.

Q: how many years can they last. I am having mine for over 7 years now and i just drove 80,000 Kilometers on them. Should i change them now?

    2 Answers
    • A: I would change tires that show signs of dry rot and cracks. I would change tires that are over 6 years old. I would change tires that have any performance changes.

Q: how does this tire handle in the snow? against a standard snow tire, how would this tire perform in terms of grip and stopping.

    • A: It doesn't handle as good in the snow as the original SE model but was manageable.

Q: Why do these tires say All season -touring when they are not tested in snow/ice conditions?

    1 Answer
    • A: All season is the industry term, as these tires are designed to perform in all 4 seasons in some countries. Based on the climate and conditions in Canada, a more suitable tire for snow/ice conditions would be a Winter Tire, or an All Weather Tire.
