Wand Was Defective But Exchange Works Well

Bought this about 1 month ago when on sale. Have been a Kenmore customer for decades. My first Miele Product.
The wand was defective and wouldn't click into the motorized beater bar when we first tried to assemble and use it. Therefore we had to get the vacuum exchanged at the store.
We had Canadian Tire customer service desk assemble the new replacement version and plug it in and test it before we left the store.
Tried it when we got home and it works well at sucking up dust and debris from our large, 1/2 carpet 1/2 wood flooring house. Will try the other attachments later. But wanted to use the motorized beater bar attachment first which is why we bought this more expensive version.
The canister is light weight. The motorized suction works well and is about 25% smaller in circumference compared to the older, traditional Kenmore models.
Giving this a 3 Star Rating because of the defective wand inconvenience.
Hope that this Miele vacuum works well without problems in the future. Time will tell. The manufacturer has a 5 year warranty, seems to have satisfied customer reviews on the whole which is why we decided to try and buy Miele.

Q: Why is the Canadian Tire warranty so much poorer than the Miele warranty? 5 years parts only compared to 5 years parts & labour plus 7 years on motor.

A: All Miele canister vacuums come with a 5 year parts and Labour warranty, as well as a 7 year motor warranty.

Q: Anyone that has purchased this vacuum, had a central vac prior. Just wondering if it is more favourable.

A: I prefer this Miele to our central vacuum. It's much quieter, and there are no issues with dust nor lingering odours due to its superior filtration. The less than optimal placement of the central vac outlets also made it difficult to reach all parts of the house and, over time, the hose ended up scratching the furniture where it came into contact. Albeit a minor point: it's more energy efficient, drawing anywhere from 245 to 1,100-watts depending upon the power setting chosen, 765-watts being typical. By comparison, our central vac clocks in at a flat 1,450-watts when in use, and a constant 1.2-watts whilst sitting in standby.

Q: Does it come with Miele's 5 year warranty on the vacuum and 7 year warranty on the vacuum motor even though 'this product carries a 5 year repair only warranty redeemable at any Canadian Tire store'? Does it come with any vacuum bag and filter?
