Product Details

Specifically engineered for pickup trucks and SUVs, the General Tire Grabber Arctic LT Studdable Winter Tire provides unmatched traction and control in extreme winter conditions. The tire’s aggressive tread pattern features snow traction ridges strategically positioned to enhance grip during cornering, accelerating, and braking in deep snow. Stepped reinforcement bars strengthen the shoulder blocks for improved handling and braking, while the stepped ridges offer additional edges to dig into snow. All in all, the Grabber Arctic LT can offer SUV and truck drivers the performance, handling, and braking they might need to brave the toughest winter roads.

Accepts Studs

This tire can have studs installed to provide additional mechanical traction on icy surfaces. Studded tires are prohibited by law in many provinces. Ask at your local Canadian Tire store.

  • General Tire's first studdable, symmetric winter tire developed specifically with work trucks in mind.

  • Snow traction ridges are a series of raised ridges in the groove bottom arranged at strategic angles to provide additional deep snow grip during cornering, accelerating and braking

  • Stepped reinforcement bars are used to strengthen the shoulder blocks which improve handling and braking in all weather conditions while the stepped ridges provide additional edges for deep snow grip

  • Wheels sold separately

Right tires for the job

The traction is fantastic, I’ve already tried them on roads covered with ice. I’m very pleased with these tires. In Alberta you need dedicated winter tires.

Excellent for unpaved winter roads

I live in BC and hunt in the mountains in the fall, and ski tour during the winter. I picked these tires because they are more like a dedicated winter tire with some all-terrain characteristics. They have been tje best tires I have used for accessing backcountry ski touring spots on unplowed logging roads. They handle the rough gravel and mud, and then keep plowing through the snow usually until I'm dragging the undercarriage. I quit putting my chains on when accessing ski touring spots because usually by the time I needed them, the chains would only get me a little further anyway. I have put many thousands of kilometers of gravel under them, including many trips over the Hurley River Forest Service road which is infamous for shredding tires, and the tread has held up remarkably well. Cons: -they are a heavy stiff tire, so the ride was noticeably harsher than my summer tires. That' the tradeoff for them handling gravel so well I guess -not as good on ice(without studs) as a dedicated ice radial. -some road noise. Less than the Cooper Discoverer At3 tires I have run, but noticeable compared to a street tire. If you drive lots on unpaved roads in the winter, these are excellent tires.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: Stupid question, but do the tires come with the rims aswell? thanks

  • A: No, they don't. My truck came with 20" alloys, but for the winter tires I went for 18" steel wheels with tires sized to be the same outside diameter as OE.
