Definitely test the paint on a spare/used/damaged bumper or fender to see if it matches well enough for your liking prior to using it on your car. Seems like some colours match better than others. I had a green one (can't remember the name anymore) and you could tell the shade was a little off (yes I bought the right colour). Got a Milano Red (Honda) for my current car and it matches pretty nicely. I would assume silver would be the hardest to paint match.

Hi Folks Firstly, what happenned to me was not a Canadian Tire fault. I had Bondo patched, primed and feathered my wife's car hood for inexpensive repair. I took a can of Dupli-Color Navy Blue to paint car hood and shook it for 2 minutes to make sure paint pigment and thinner were mixed thoroughly. Started to spray hood and paint came out like rain drops and not the standard paint mist spray. Took can back to CTC and they gave me another one . The new can did the same thing. Took back to CTC and the auto clerk and I checked the batch numbers on the bottom of the spray can and found that the batch spray was the same. He stated that this was a manufacturer defective as the paint pigment was not mixing with the thinner. He pulled all the cans off the shelf. He then checked his online inventory and told me where to find the paint at another CTC. He wrote down the bad batch numbers for me to compare cans at the other CTC store. He was a great help and saved me a lot of time and not to mention that I had to re-sand and prime the hood twice. My stupid error in not checking the spray can before I started to spray. Always test paint spray before applying.
