I use this product 13 years ago when I painted my dump truck! I loved it so much I purchased it again in 2023 and painted my side-by-side the same color! Absolutely love the ease and result of this paint!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought new. Took home, poured through a filter before entering gun. It was so clogged up paint wouldn’t drain through filter. That’s what I get for trying to go a cost effective route. Would not recommend this ready to spray paint. You don’t know how long it has been sitting on a shelf.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Does this paint need a clear coat on it?

Q: what product should be used to clean after use ? Also, can a airless sprayer be used ?

  • A: Lacquer thinner can be used to thin and clean the paint. I see no reason why an airless sprayer can't be used so long as any plastic parts are resistant to solvents like lacquer thinner and acetone. The paint is already pretty thin, so it should go through an airless one fine. I can't say whether the finish quality would be the same as a sprayer that requires a compressor.

Q: Is this product fuel proof? In one of your questions a person asked if the dupli color paint (clearcoat) could be used on a motorcycle gas tank. The answer was NO as fuel would eat through the clear coat.

  • A: No, this product is not fuel proof. The only clear coat is 2 part urethane clear.

Q: dupli colour 946 ml paint i am using a 2 stage expensive primer already...can i paint over it ,or do i have to prime the car again with dupli colour primer?

1 Answer
  • A: Not knowing what primer you have already used, we can't say for sure, but they should have no issues using the Duplicolour paint over that primer. You might want to try it on a tear panel first.
