Product Details

The Continental Ultimate Contact Winter Tire is designed to improve your vehicle's traction in winter conditions. These tires are specifically designed to accommodate the needs of electric vehicles, but maintain full compatibility with most vehicle requirements.

Snow Peak Rated

The 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol indicates the tire is rated for Severe Snow Service. This is the acceptable standard for winter driving in Canada and provides improved safety on snow and ice.

Mud And Snow Rated

The M+S symbol differentiates an All-Season tire from a Summer only tire. While rated for light snow, they will not match a winter tire for traction or stopping distance on snow and ice.

  • EV compatible marking with a focus on the needs of electric vehicles while covering all vehicle requirements

  • 3 peak mountain snowflake for use in severe winter conditions

Continental snow tires excellent on ice and snow, quiet as well

This is the first time I’ve tried Continental snow tires. Previously a Michelin/ Bridgestone snow tire guy. Although I’ve only had them 2 weeks with 2,000km, we’ve had an excellent mix of freezing rain and several dumps of snow. I have a habit of hammering on the brakes and mashing the accelerator ( when noone is anywhere to be seen to find out just how good or not they are. As in with deep snow they were excellent. I think the real test comes on icy roads, which is where this tire seemed better than either of the other brands. Impressively quiet on the 401 at speed for any tire never mind an actual snow tires. A recent sale convinced to try the continentals. Now that I’ve sampled them I would pay a premium for their performance. My 2026 Toyota Camry and myself are really enjoying these tires, you will too. In my motorcycling and long distance (5,000km) bicycling Continentals are all I tide on by choice. Take the risk and try something off the mainstream and get rewarded.

Tires

Unfortunately had a screw in the sidewall of my winter tire, therefore could not be repaired. Of course you cannot buy just one tire, so I had to get two. Was told my original purchased tires from C Tire were under warranty, still cost over $400 for two tires. They were able to switch them out with tires in stock.

Confident Drive

Driving with these tires for a couple of weeks now installed on Volvo S60. Quite a smooth and stable feeling on the highways, confident drive on the snowy and slushy roads, even takes on the moderate snow covered slopes nicely. Happy so far.

Questions

Q: Hi, I would like to know if these tires are also ok to use not just for winter season?

3 Answers
  • A: Hi Dennis, Winter tires are designed specifically for winter use, and this tire is no exception. They are made with a softer rubber compound to handle severe winter conditions. In contrast, all-season or all-weather tires do not perform as well in extreme winter conditions or on snowy and icy roads, especially when breaking. All all-season or all-weather tires become harder as the temperature drops, these tires are losing traction capabilities. As someone else mentioned, it is not recommended to use winter tires in the summer due to the rubber compound. As strange as it may seem, the softer rubber compound does not perform well in warmer weather or hot surfaces, causing the tires to wear out much faster.

Q: My current tires have a load index of 99T. Will the higher load index affect how the car handles?

1 Answer
  • Continental Tire

A: Hello and thank you for the question. Higher load index replacement winter tires will not noticeably affect the handling and performance of your vehicle. They are designed to cover the weight requirements for all vehicles that have that same size and where applications and vehicle loading may require additional support without influencing the ride and performance of the vehicle under these possible conditions.
