Chamberlain Wall Mount Ultra-Quiet Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener with Battery Backup

After the research on buying a wall mount. Purchased this and got it installed by a company. It works amazing. It’s quiet and does the job!

I bought this for our second garage, a double insulated door. We use that garage for tractors, and boat storage, a ceiling mount opener would prevent the boat from getting in, so a side mount was necessary. This was on sale ($650) Jan 2025. Installation was easier than I thought- the collar on the unit, mate to the pulley pole, 1 bracket, and the unit was mounted. Run wires for the 2 beams, and the control, staple them in place, and that’s it. Programming was VERY easy, all done with the up/down buttons, not screws and constant up, down off a ladder. The wireless remote and light were pre-mated, no fooling around there. I do wish the light-on time was programmable, it is defaulted to 4.5 minutes. And I wish this kit came with a keypad remote for the outside, lots on line, most universal ones work. The manual just shows how to confirm the light timer, not how to change the time. Note, the light needs to be plugged in, or the app will not open or close the door. Odd. The app operation of the door requires wifi to the opener, we were just on the edge of our wifi, and got lucky. If the unit is far away from your device, the app is useless. The app again, I am set up fine, tried to invite the wife using the app, it is lost in a loop somewhere. I just gave her my credentials. With the app, it logs who opened it (but with 1 login, it will always show me!), that it was opened, closed, how long each, I set a schedule to close at 11:59 pm each day, just in case. The control unit has a timer, to close after 1, 5, 10 minutes, great when we go snowmobiling, the door will auto close after we leave. Overall quite happy (1 month use so far). A little pricey so look for sales. A battery is included for backup use, 1 remote, 1 light, no keypad. We have Ford vehicles, Mylink works fine from the car/truck as a remote.

I was going to purchase a belt driven opener but realized because my door is 8 feet high, I would need to buy an extension kit so this opener started to look more feasible as it can open an 8ft door. The video instructions were pretty good except the part about the dead bolt. The instructions sort of implied you could mount it anywhere you wanted but usually it's about 3 inches from a roller. Maybe I wasn't thinking but I installed it 3 inches below the 3rd roller and quickly realized it had no purpose 'under' the roller. It needs to be installed 3" ABOVE a roller. Other than that the instructions were pretty clear. When I tried it the first time I was surprised as it worked great and I couldn't believe how smooth and quiet it was. It even has a soft start and finish so it's not jerking when it starts and slows down before finally closing. I do wish it came with a keypad because from outside the only way to open it is via an app on your phone. So I purchased a keypad and it's easy to set up.(all Chamberlain keypads seem to be compatible) The camera is a nice idea but to fully get use out of it you need to subscribe to a plan but nonetheless there is basic plan that is free. Overall I am impressed with this opener and would recommend it. It is quiet, smooth and doesn't take up much room. Hope it lasts
