Great product for a reasonable price

We bought this on clearance for much less than the regular retail price. We didn't need the wi-fi and smart version, so this one was a great option - just your basic garage door opener. It installed somewhat easily - the instructions could have been easier to read and understand, but it is installed and working fine. We had the 1/2 hp before and thought the 3/4 hp would be better and it does seem a little faster than the old one (a Genie) and it is quite.

So quiet!!

I have to admit...I bought this two years ago on Black Friday to replace my very loud Lift Master chain drive and I just put it up today! I wasn't a big fan of the manual so I watched an install on You Tube but would refer back to the manual in a pinch, plus you need two people/ladders to install. In the two years it sat I picked up a Internet Gateway for it and installed it today as well with a few glitches but over all it went ok. I'm blown away how quiet it is compared to the 1/2 Hp chain drive it replaced, I have to listen to hear it if I'm sitting in the truck(engine off). The Range of the remote is better than the old one and using the app is a nice feature.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good for at least 10 years

I have 3 of these. From experience they last at least 10 years. Had a couple of Genie openers but they don't last more than a few years at best.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Installation instructions are Terrible

The product seems good from what friends who have it say, and from other reviews. I dont have mine installed yet and have spent a few hours on it so far. The installation instructions are seriously bad. Diagrams are small and difficult to read, instructions are vague, important details like what direction to put the trolley on the shaft are left out. Descriptions of parts and screws are lackluster at best. Tightening the belt as described in the manual results in a belt that is so saggy its unusable. Generally the instructions are complete garbage. Watch youtube videos before and during your set-up or you will seriously agitate yourself. I'm sure there will be further issues which is why i am online now watching videos and am no longer using the manual as my primary installation guide.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not what I was sold

This product number matches the garage opener in this weeks Black Friday flyer however the two units I purchased are not these. They are not internet ready as they do not have the myQ gateway. Very disappointed after being so excited about such a good deal. Too good to be true I guess!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Larshy, make sure you speak to the retailer where you bought these openers. It's the retailer that organized this promotion. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Chamberlain-DIY

Q: What is the difference between the b series (eg b750c) and the HD series (eg HD750wfc)?

1 Answer
  • A: The product in question 299-5726 is not a B750c, it is a B730c and the difference between this sku and the HD750wfc, is the B730c comes with battery back-up and is myq enabled – meaning you need a myq gateway 46-0192 (sold separately) to connect. The HD750wfc has wifi built in but does not come with battery back-up. Both units have a wireless keypad and come with 2 – 3 button remotes. The question of b750c vs HD750wfc – the difference is the packaging.

Q: Just to confirm, does the MyQ hub come included with this opener, or do I need to buy something separate to connect to the App? Many of the other Chamberlains require a separate purchase in order to connect to it via SmartPhone, wanted to make sure that that's not the case for this unit.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Cbcb - This garage door opener does not come with the Internet Gateway. It's an extra accessory that will need to be purchased separately. The part number you need is the CIGBU.
