Very good unit. Easy installation. Nothing fancy, just does the job.
What I liked:
-Easy to install
-Chain drive means reliable
-Works pretty quiet
-Good operation speed
-Separate light button on the wall control unit
-MyQ, and ability to manage the opener from my cellphone (requires internet gateway purchase)
-MyQ integration to Google Home
What I didn't like:
-When the door is traveling down and I press the button to stop the door (as I used to do on my previous opener), it doesn't just stop.. it starts traveling up.
-Hooking up the opener through MyQ to Google home requires paid subscription
-It is impossible to open the door with Google home (for security reasons). You can only request for the door status (open/close) or ask to close the door.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A: All of our garage door openers including the unit in question come equipped for a standard 7ft opening door height. If you have an 8ft door height that you will need to purchase an extension kit. In this case they are available online or some stores may also have in stock of the CTC part# 046-0590-6, which is a 8ft chain drive extension kit

Q: Will a 1/2 hp Chamberlain chain drive garage door opener open an 8’ high x 9’wide insulated garage door or do I need the 3/4 hp opener?

Q: Read a review that you cannot stop the door, it begins to travel upward again once button is pressed. Is this true?

A: Yes because that's a safety feature. If the door is coming down and something or someone gets in the way you will want to be able to reverse the door quickly. If you want to leave the door open partially then close the door. Now open the door. You can stop the door in any position as long as the door is traveling up.

Q: What does it mean that MyQ smart phone control is upgradeable? Does this mean that we would have to pay extra money to use that service?

A: Hi Ramy - There is no charge for the MyQ service. An Internet Gateway is required in addition to the garage door opener. The gateway is available from Canadian Tire, http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/chamberlain-myq-internet-hub-0460192p.html#srp.

Q: i have a garage door opener currently installed but its time for an upgrade. its a chain drive. am i able to purchase a different brand opener and install / replace old motor

A: In replacing your old operator, you will need to replace the rail as Chamberlain and LiftMaster rails differ from each other. You will also need to replace the safety sensors, walls control, and chain.

A: The unit is chain driven. It connects from the chain to the trolley with a chain link and cable (aircraft cable strength). This can be found in the manual as well for further description. Here a couple of images
