Really bad design. The float rod does not stay in place. The hole and tab on the rod is useless. The rod easily slips out of place when refilling or replacing the fan top, then fan will not turn on because the rod is out of place.

A: Yes. Just started using and was surprised and pleased with this feature. Also has an automatic speed setting that adjusts the fan speed needed to bring the actual room humidity up to the set humidity.

Q: How often do you have to change the filter? How do you know it is time to replace it?

A: In Mississauga, the filter will last 4-5 months if you use Essick water conditioner as directed. If not, it will probably last just a few weeks. It gets discoloured and the humidity in the room won't change, even when the unit seems to be functioning properly.

Q: Any issues with the unit leaking onto the floor? I have purchased a couple humidifiers in the past and they ruined my hardwood floors. We need one but now I'm leery, and we don't have a central furnace to install one of those units.

Q: Can someone tell me if this humidifier shuts off if it’s missing water without burning the motor out? It’s for the office and it’s very dry and on weekends there’s nobody… so it’s very important that it shuts down on its own, thx

A: The MA0800 is not a top fill unit. This humidifier has a water bottle that can be filled from the bottom from your water source.
