HOW TO SET UP A HOME GYM

Exercising from the comfort of your own home is a great way to save money and allows you to progress at your own pace. Here are some tips to help you set up a home gym as you start or continue your fitness journey.

Include Both Machines and Free Weights

Having both cardio and weights can add variety to your workouts. Consider a rack with dumbbell weights or an adjustable dumbbell if you have limited space. Weight benches are also essential for many exercises. Having an Olympic barbell and rack allows you to do squats, deadlifts, and bench presses from the comfort of your home. For cardio, consider an exercise bike, treadmill, or elliptical to improve your aerobic fitness levels.

Create a Pilates and Yoga Studio

If your favourite way to get fit is yoga or pilates, consider creating a yoga retreat. Fill your space with pilates kits, yoga mats, and yoga blocks and flood the room with ambient lighting to set up the perfect escape for relaxation and calm.

Rest and Recovery

Post-exercise recovery is crucial so your body can repair and prepare for your next workout. Make the process easier with massage guns, heating pads, and foam rollers in your stretching area.

Additional information for residents of Quebec only: The regular annual rate for persons applying for the Triangle Mastercard and the Triangle World Elite Mastercard is 21.99% for cash transactions and related fees and 21.99% for all other charges. Some applicants may receive a higher or lower regular annual rate depending on a credit evaluation. The minimum payment is the sum of (a) the greater of: (i) interest and fees shown on your statement + $10; or (ii) 5% of the New Balance, excluding amounts on special payment plans, (b) any balance over your credit limit, (c) any amounts past due not included in (b) above, and (d) the amount of any equal payments plan instalments then due.
