Windsor Salt Clean and Protect + Clean Care Water Softener Pellets are specially formulated to extend the life of appliances, plus they protect against rust stains. These pellets are the most premium water softener salt and have 5-in-1 benefits to improve the quality of your water. They reduce rust build-up and iron deposits in your softener, making it more efficient. The pellets come in a bag that is easy to carry, open and pour thanks to its special features. The bag opens wide to allow salt to pour easily and flow freely, and also features a rigid plastic handle for more comfortable lifting and carrying.

The water softener salt seems good quality, but can’t say it’s any better than any other salt I’ve used. However we having the plastic handle on the top of the bag certainly makes it easier to get the bags into the basement where my water softener is.

Does not bridge or slush

This product is less prone to bridging and slushing than other salts I have used. I have used Windsor Salt Clean and Protect + Clean Care, and it's predecessor, Rust Remover, for 15 years. I caused one bridging incident (by over filling the salt tank) in all that time. Another salt that I used, once, bridged almost immediately and turned to slush. It required removing the tank and giving it a thorough cleaning to restore operation.

Good product, resists bridging.

We have had a water softener for over 30 years and have used different brands and types of softener salt. We usually get rock salt which is more cost efficient, but for us would cause bridging thus not allowing our softener to perform at it's highest potential. Windsor's salt pellets don't bridge which allows our softener to work at it's best. No more having to break salt bridges to get things flowing again. The cost per bag is more than the rock salt, but worth it in my opinion.
