We bought this unit in Nov 2012 and used for 2 months at our place in Mexico. We like it so much, we purchased a 2nd unit. Unfortunately, the electronic control panel quit Nov 2013. Since we are over the 1 year, we are left with a lovely looking piece of junk. We have tried to get it repaired but have been told repairs would be almost the same as buying a new unit.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Didn't Last

Bought this unit Nov 2010. It worked well and kept humidity in basement to 35% until August 2013. At that time, it collected very little moisture even though it was running constantly , couldn't get humidity lower than 47%. Repair shop said it would be very difficult to find the problem and probably not worth the cost. Did not think unit was quite but it was the first we owned. Too expensive for the time it operated .
No, I do not recommend this product.

Power Hog
This unit was given to me as an Xmas gift in December of 2012. It has worked well so far and does a good job of removing moisture from the air. It does run all the time but isn't all that noisy.
Recently I decided to review my power consumption and since getting this unit my power consumption has increased 400-600 kwh monthly which is insanely expensive. If you take the average, say 500kwh monthly and multiply that by 12 it would be 6000kwh yearly. My power rate is currently $0.13790/kwh so this unit is costing me about $827 a year to operate. Now these numbers are not scientific by any means but you get the picture.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Unit beeping and shutting down for no reason
Our unit is automatically shutting off. Then all the lights come on & humidity read out shows 8.8. It runs again for a couple of minutes & then starts the whole process again. Filter is clean and bucket appears to be in the correct position.

Q: Why It never stop "under mode AUTO"

A: The fan on this unit NEVER shuts off! It's a bad feature. Only the compressor will toggle on and off. I'm disappointed.

Q: no water
have been running the dehumidifier for 24 hours - not a drop of water collected - any solutions ??

A: Check the humidity near the machine with a hygrometer. If humidity is high (more than 55%), run in "Continuous Mode" and listen for the sound of the compressor starting (just like a fridge) when the unit starts up. If the compressor does not run, you'll get no water.

Q: hEATER AND DEUMIDIFIER?
Jus wondered how this worked? Is the heating element seperate from the dehum? Or do they both run at the same time? Is heater thermstat controlled? Thanks for the info.

A: read your user manual. The compressor will not operate/remove water when in heat mode. So no they dont run together.
There is a thermostat for you to select temp. It will hold a range between plus and minus 2F from your setting.

Q: Does not deshumidify at all ?!?
Hi, I set it to continous worked all night and no water collected at all. Here's more info:

-The unis displayed level: 30 %
- I put it in continous state , it display "- -" then show 30 %

A: read your user manual. if you set it to auto-dry the unit works to maintain a 50% humidity. If you set it to continuous the desired humidity cannot be adjusted and the display shows you what it thinks the room humidity is.
Overriding all the above is the deicer. If it senses a low temperature level the desired humidity button stops working in normal mode, the compressor shuts off in any mode and will not turn on again until the deicer senses the correct operating temp. This means no water is being collected if a low temp exists within the unit. or around it.
So check for ice or low temp if that does not exist then either the deicer or the compressor is faulty.

Q: I have my dehumidifer on the continuous setting, but nothing is comming out of the hose. Do I need to use a short hose?
2 Answers
A: Hose length up to 50 feet should be no problem as long as the hose is flat or slopes slightly downward. If the machine is removing water, the hose will eventually fill with water and should drain by gravity if it is lower than the outlet on the machine. I'd suggest you simply try to get the bucket to start filling 1st. If that works, then go with the hose.

In my apartment the heater no is good, I am thinking to buy this machine. What I am wondering is? It will work in an small apartment . other question ...Can I use at night while sleep.

A: It would be an oversized dehumidifier for a small apartment, its rated for 3000 square feet. better and cheaper to buy a small dehumidifier and a separate heater.
