Couldn't get the plug to fit...

Even though I used the EXACT tool shown on the cover the package, I could not get the plug into the hole.After pulling the screw out of my tire, I reamed the hole with the exact same tool as shown on the package. I then tried to insert the plug with the plug tool, I couldn't get the plug into the tire. Luckily, I found another brand of plug in my tire repair tool box and using the plug tool and the rubber cement I also bought, this different plug slid in nicely with 50% of the effort of the plug being reviewed. After waiting only a couple of minutes, I filled the tire with air and tested the repair with a spit test, and the different plug worked perfectly.
