HARD PASS!

Bought this a month ago and I'm disappointed. Very cheap quality. First, the good! It's BIG! Nice big glass window too, and comes with a fan. Heats up pretty quick. That's all I can think of for good. Now, the reality! Cheap quality, no quality control. Paint job is blotchy, welds are messy and the weld beads were not cleaned up (would take 30 seconds to scrape them off). Fitment of parts is low quality (uneven gaps), lots of jagged metal burrs and edges, but the worse part is the fan. Very noisy and even on "Hi" there is hardly any air that comes out. I took it apart to try to figure out why and it's just bad engineering. The fan blows into a little metal box and the air had to change direction to come out the top and then has to be redirected to exit the sides or bottom of the back of the stove. Also, the window air-wash system is fed by a hole at the back where the fan blows. This also means less air to heat the room. I upgraded from a small Regency stove and the quality and workmanship is night and day. I would return it except that at over 400lbs my teenage son does not want to wrestle it out of the house and onto the truck to return it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Not what I expected

Not what I expected. The ash tray pops out, the interior of the stove doesn’t look like a usual one. I was unable to view prior to purchase so didn’t know what I was getting and the pictures don’t show the interior of the stove. Hopefully it can be fixed.

Mixed

The stove throws out great heat, but not for the rated sq. footage. The fan is good, but noisy. After 1 season of using it, the gasket in the door came loose, making the glass loose; I've never seen that before. Now I gotta find a replacement. For the price, it's ok. But, when you buy higher end stoves, you also get much higher quality. 7/10 for me

Q: We bought this stove it gives off a lot off heat. The problem is that when we open up the door to put wood in nothing but black pours out through. We have to hurry up to close the door. Everything gets full off smoke. What would case this.

  • A: Dave, you are getting serious backdraft because your chimney length is too short. You need to add another length of chimney on your roof. Google the "3-2-10" Rule on Chimney Installation. "Determine the number of Chimney Pipe lengths required. The chimney must extend at least 3 feet above the highest point where it passes through the roof, and be at least 2 foot higher than any part of the building within a horizontal distance of 10 feet (Figure 2)."

  • A: be sure that u have emptied the ash drawer and have cleaned out the draft inlet at the bottom of the burner box by lifting up the cover over the ash hole. also open the stove pipe draft control and open the glass door slowly. if possible have a look to check your stove pipe is clear of birds nests, or anything else including animals that may have gotten stuck.

Q: Is this stove approved for a mobile home in Alberta

  • A: The instruction booklet does provide guidance on installing the stove in a mobile home. You would need to check with your local municipal planning and building departments to verify the allowance and requirements of installing wood burning stoves in mobile home structures.
