Really wnjoy using this sander

I had this exact model for many years. After years of use (abuse) the motor finally blew. I really enjoy using this particular sander. It’s very lightweight and the pressure indicator lights are a great feature

Great little sander

I need a small sander to work in odd shaped areas of the canoes I build. This sander is light and maneuverable. If you need to sand a big area such as a table you might want a bigger machine though I'm sure this guy would be up to the task.

Rest in Piece

I bought a belt sander at least 20 years ago this afternoon when I was using it it started to labour and then smoke came from it. Tomorrow I will take it to pieces to see if it's the brushes that have finally gone hopefully that's the problem. I'm disappointed to find that they are not available in this country. Still, it has served it's purpose and done a great job over the years.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Excellent sander at a great price

Excellent sander for the price! Sanded the stairs and deck edges of our cottage with ease. The sander has a pressure sensor that lights up green, yellow and red based on the amount of pressure applied. Skil also has excellent customer service.

A: In addition, it is relative to the size and scope of the project. For every project there is an appropriate tool that provides both a quality and time related benefit. Belt sanders come in four standard sizes which refer to the size of belt they accept: 3x18 inch, 3x21 inch, 3x24 inch, and 4x24 inch. The larger the belt sander the larger the project requirement but note that the larger machines become more difficult to control and can cause damage to the project if not careful. The most common belt sander sizes are 3X18 and 3X21 as they are easier to control for the capable DIYer. That said belt sanders are used on floors and decks but I personally would recommend a 3X18 sander for projects or surface areas less than 100 square feet. For applications larger than this I would consider larger machines and/or commercial sanding equipment designed for larger projects. Again, it is all relative to the size and scope of the project.
