Stoneffects™ Quartz Coating is a self-priming quartz coating with excellent top coat adhesion and weather resistance. Stoneffects creates an attractive, decorative quartz finish which is highly durable and impact resistant withstanding the rigours of harsh weather and daily wear and tear. Stoneffects has the added benefit of creating a non-slip surface that is flexible and highly resistant to abrasion and impact.

Not as described on label. I was expecting a light colour as it was showing almost white ( quartz) on label. It is a medium brown that looks basically like sandstone instead of quartz pebbles. It was white white until it cured overnight. 4L for 1 m² maybe if it is a perfect surface. Not a great price at $114.99 / 4L I am disappointed in not getting what I want, but it does look good and only time will tell if it’s durable.

Q: Can this be applied on a previously painted concrete floor in the basement? Has anyone done this before?

A: Hi MCHENRY, If the previous paint is not our Stoneffects Quartz, it would be best to remove as much of the paint as possible and perform a splash test before applying our Quartz Stone Coating. Remove the paint, stain or sealer with a sander or grinder. Perform a splash test by sprinkling water on at least four or more areas, both high traffic and non-traffic areas. If the water absorbs rapidly into the concrete, the surface is ready to coat. If the water beads or is not absorbed, the surface is not ready to coat and requires more preparation. Continue to use the sander or grinder until the water absorbs in all test areas. After the paint, stain or sealer is completely removed, clean the surface following the instructions above. For better penetration and maximum adhesion, use Rust-Oleum Citric Etch.
