A: I have used it over rust. I can't say how long it will last though as it's only been a couple of years since applying it myself. I think it's inevitable that the rust will come through again, it's just a matter of time.

Q: Would this be suitable to paint an aluminum boat?

A: If the boat was dry docked for storage! I would look at the specifications and see if it can take submerging for extended periods of time! My opinion no.....

A: Hi Thewall, As long as your camping trailer roofs are metal and built-up roofing, the product can be applied. Our LeakSeal 7 Year Aluminum Roof Coating is used for rust-proofing and weatherproofing metal roofs and sidewalls, and as a reflective coating for built-up roofing (BUR) and modified bitumen roof systems.

Q: I was trying to find the sq foot coverage of the container. I need to know how many I would need for my fifth wheel trailer. I need aprox 200 sq feet for one coat. thank you.

A: Hi Nick, Great question! Our LeakSeal Aluminum Roof Coating has a coverage rate of 7.56 L / 9.3 m² (2 gal./100 ft²) over metal. Over corrugated and irregular metal surfaces, allow for additional surface area by multiplying square meter / feet by 1.15 minimum. Over smooth Built-up/Modified Bitumen Roofing, 9.46 L / 9.3m² (2 1/2 gal./100 ft²). The surface dictates the actual coverage. The amounts shown are intended as minimum application information.
