For the discounted price, it's not bad.

I got the RELOAD 1080 on a great 70% off deal—definitely not worth the full $150. Video quality is just okay; reading licence plates is hit-or-miss, especially in low light. Nighttime footage is weak. That said, the 140° field of view is excellent, and setup was simple with an intuitive interface. The included 8 GB SD card holds about 90 minutes of looped recording in 3-minute clips, with a manual save option to prevent overwriting—very handy. Downsides: poor low-light performance and immediate shutdown if power is cut (though this makes it easy to turn off).

Yes, I recommend this product.

Highly recommended decent dash camera system

Very affordable and functional dash cam. If you just need a dash cam that does the main function of a dash camera, record your driving experience in case of mishaps, this is a great little unit. I don’t actually know why else you may want one? This unit probably has a couple more features than that but I’ve never used them. The screen is nice and compact and the complete system is quite easy to install without pulling off panels and unscrewing dash components. I like the smaller unimposing screen. A great budget dash camera with decent features.

Questions

1 - 8 of 8 Questions

Q: Does this camera have motion sensing?

3 Answers
  • A: Yes. All RELOAD dash cameras have motion sensor built in. When impact is occurred to the vehicle and the dash camera is recording, the camera will automatically lock the current recording file to prevent it from being deleted by loop recording. So that what has happened before, during and after the impact are safely saved for further investigation.

  • A: I have it installed so this is just a guess. My estimate is around 9feet to 10 feet  or 3 meters.

Q: Hi does this dash cam constantly record while driving?

2 Answers
  • A: There is a flashing red circle indicating that it's recording. Before operating, there needs to be a mini SD card in there so the camera has somewhere to record the footage too. When you buy the camera, the package already comes with a mini SD card but I found the capacity to be too small so I bought a alternative mini SD card with a bigger storage capacity and inserted that one. The Reload dash cam is a great camera and I highly recommend it.

Q: Cannot find the Reload website to update firmware. Anyone having this problem and how does one update firmware?

1 Answer
  • A: I have had this one for over two years. Firmware is fine and doesn’t need updating. It’s a dash camera, not a laptop. Use a decent as card and format it once every month.

Q: Do you have to reset the date and time everytime you unpug the unit or turn off the car. Also the book says it should be flashing green when recording , mine flashes red. What does this mean.

1 Answer
  • A: 1. You don’t need to set time/date every time, as long as you did set the time/date when you turnning on the device in the first time using, instead of just clicking OK to pass all steps. If you did set everything but still need to reset every time, we may consider the built-in cell is out of function. In this case, please contact our service line 18774668191 for replacement. 2. The flashing LED means the camera is recording. Some batches come with red LED instead of green. Don’t worry about this.

Q: I had cameras before but they never kept the time and date correctly. No good if need in court. How does this dash cam differ?

1 Answer
  • A: When powering on 0350154, the camera will be asked to force setting the date and time at first use, then it will record the information automatically.
