Can't activate it properly-poor instructions

The alarm certainly is LOUD, but the instructions to activate/deactivate it are LOUSY! I try to use the instructions to activate it properly and then walk away and then it goes off. I tried to find a better instruction manual on YouTube but could not. I will give this one extra star for being a well-built, robust item, but I don't want to wake up the whole neighbourhood every time I activate it wrong. I will probably be returning it.

This is the Scooter lock I'm looking for...

Got this lock for my fairly new ninebot scooter. The real deal maker is the mounting strap for the lock bracket that's just right for the oversized, awkward shaped steering tube of a ninebot G30LP scooter that makes it easy to carry while on the go. The lock itself is 'hefty' and if that's not enough to deter thieves, it's also got an annoying loud alarm when the lock is disturbed while wrapped around the scooter. Gives an extra 'peace of mind' when I park the scooter. The lock came with 3 keys that also had a 'key light' which was an added bonus in itself. Highly recommended. Thank you Canadian Tire for offering a lock such as this.
