Q: Is there supposed to be slit holes on the sides every how many foot or so? How do I close the ones I don’t want dripping from?

A: The holes are less than thirty centimetres apart. You do not need to close any off, if there is a part of your garden you don’t wish to water use hose connectors to insert transport hose, no holes, through those parts then connect up the drip line. Either way a flow regulator, usually in the faucet connector controls the water flow so that it drips into your garden. You will need and inexpensive water control computer connected to the tap to set up times for watering otherwise your water bill will go through the roof and your garden will rot. Fifteen minutes a day from late spring until late autumn is good but ensure you put the computer, flow regulator and tap connector inside during winter.
