Philips Avent SCY103/01 Anti-Colic Baby Bottle, 9-oz

It was the perfect flow for my baby and just a reliable choice when planning to take a bottle on the go! We always trust the Philips Avent brand and I'm so happy that this bottle lives up to all their standards. No spilling, perfect size, and great nipple for my baby's needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Philips Avent Anti-colic Bottle as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This bottle worked ok with my baby. It took her some time to get used to the nipple and develop a good latch, but otherwise seemed to help with her colic/fussiness when feeding. I did notice a slight leak/drip once or twice. Bottle is easy to put together and clean with my sterilizer. I like that it was a 9oz bottle so she can use it more as she gets bigger. Would be nice to have higher flow nipples to go with it, too.

I have loved Philips Avent bottles from the beginning, so I was very excited when I received this bottle to try out. My baby has spit up issues since the newborn days, and ever since using this bottle, it has really decreased the amount of spit ups. It has also made my baby less gassy. In addition to it being good for my baby, this bottle is great for cleaning as well. The wide neck and minimal parts makes it quick and easy planning. I would definitely recommend this bottle to any moms facing colic type issues with their little one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pleasantly surprised by the Philips Avent Anti-Colic baby bottle — I was expecting a bottle with many tiny parts to assemble and clean, but it is actually very minimalistic and well designed. For some background, my little one is almost finished with bottles. We've also moved past the throes of newborn colic and gassiness, but I can still tell when he is swallowing too much air. So I was excited to try out this bottle! On the plus side, this bottle is lightweight and easy for my son to hold on his own. The nipple is designed with a valve to reduce air ingestion, and therefore colic, and Philips has actual research to back up these statements. I also appreciate that Philips has created these special Anti-Colic nipples with different flow rates, which can also help with air ingestion. Unfortunately I've had problems with this specific shape of nipple before — my son can't form a good latch and there is a loud clicking and sucking noise when he drinks. Since this bottle is designed to reduce air intake, swallowing all that air kind of defeats the purpose. I also wish this style of bottle came in glass because we are trying to reduce the amount of plastic we use in our household. At least it is BPA-free! I am very happy there is another option for bottle and/or combination feeding parents out there — we all know that finding the right bottle for your little one is trial and error at best, and a struggle at worst. I recommend to try this out if your little one struggles with fussiness and colic, but set your expectations appropriately. My baby didn't have any issues taking it and we did notive an improvement in her gassiness compared to the previous bottles we used. She stayed on the bottle during feedings without popping on and off which is definitely a plus and less messy. There is more parts than a regular bottle which takes a bit longer to clean and put together but for the comfort it provides my little one it is worth it! Would definitely recommend this bottle for any fussy baby!
