Horrible quality

I bought these pots and within a few months of minimal use, they are unusable and honestly, trash. I only ever hand wash, cook on medium and use pure oils (not aerosol like Pam) but they are a nightmare now. Would not recommend.

Paderno Bronze Pots

I loved the look of these pots. They are sleek, stylish and beautifully made. Unfortunately after trying most of them I returned the set.
From a senior perspective the handles were much too thin for me to safely grab/hold with arthritis setting in. I did not feel safe carrying them from the cooker to the sink to drain potatoes or steamed vegetables. The steamer was a bonus and one of the reasons I purchased this set but there is no handle on it so you cannot lift it off the pot without oven mitts or a tea towel which to be honest is a very stupid design flaw. I treated these pots well and kept the cardboard packing inserts to keep them from scratching the non stick. I did notice scores after only a few uses but didn’t worry about it. Then left a pot to simmer which I forgot about and the whole non stick coating burned right off it. The smell in the house for days afterward was awful. Thought I’d killed our pet parrot. Still if you’re young and starting out and age leaves you agile and nimble you’ll probably love these. I would buy them for a younger couple but definitely not for senior.

Coating flakes off

The coating started flaking off within a couple of months. I washed them in the dishwasher like all my other pans so that might be why, but I also never used metal utensils on them.

Q: Is this product dishwasher safe (except the fact that the it will discolor the appearance)? Disregard the appearance changes, can we put it in the dishwasher? Will it anyhow harm the inner material or quality? (my dishwasher's max temperature is 150F)

A: Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. These pots have a “riveted” base meaning that the SS plate on the bottom has perforations which the aluminum pan body is pressed through in order to bond the SS plate to the aluminum pan. Because of this production process, it leaves aluminum “dots” on the bottom of the pan exposed and unprotected. Exposed aluminum is subject to corrosion when in contact harsh dishwashing chemicals. So, if the product were put in the dishwasher, the aluminum “dots” on the bottom would discolour quite quickly. This would provide only an aesthetic impact to the appearance of the product. Over time though, there is somewhat of a risk of the aluminum deteriorating and the SS induction plate separating from the aluminum pan body, and for this reason, we do not recommend dishwasher use on this product. If a fully dishwasher safe, non-stick product is desired, I would recommend the Paderno Signature Hard Anodized cookware set (142-3467).
