No filter required. Runs almost silently. Helps humidify a single room as stated in the literature. Would have minimal effect on an entire house.

This compact unit produces lots of moisture, while still lasting surprisingly long between fills. It’s also very easy to adjust, and simple to fill. The only negative is the gurgling and clicking sound it makes as water moves within it. That’s probably not an issue much of the time, but it does limit its night-time usefulness for light sleepers.

Bought the product brand new, opened the box and it was soaked with water. Brand new out of the packaging. There's no excuse for this lack of quality. Extremely unimpressed with the product and that I have to waste my time to return it and go find another one. Don't recommend this product even to my worst enemy.

I tried everything in the trouble shoot guide and mine was completely useless right out of the box. There was only one more of these on the shelf when I purchased and the other had scotch tape on it showing it was a return and that should have been my first red flag. Returning this to buy a different model.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: Yes, it will work however depending on the mineral quality of the tap water, there may be a grey residue develop on surfaces in the room.

A: You have to add several drops. One or two drops won't work. I used Peppermint Essential Oil and it works great.

Q: Just bought this humidifier and used it for the first time last night, it’s making on and off noise of water droplet sounds, is this normal? Will it go away?

A: Thank you for your inquiry. This droplet sound is completely normal when you turn on your humidifier for the first time. The sound will decrease after it runs for a few hours. If you are sensitive to sounds and plan to use your humidifier at night, we recommend for the first use, run your humidifier during the day for a few hours. This way the sound of droplets will be at a minimum when you turn in for the night. Q: how often should I use the cartridge to keep this humidifier clean

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Protec cleaning cartridge contains an antimicrobial compound to continually inhibit the growth of odor causing bacteria and mold. Q: I am considering buying the Honeywell HUL 525BC mini mist humidifier from your store. Does it operate quietly? I understand that some humidifiers cause a loud gurgling sound when they are producing output.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. This unit does run quietly. The gurgling noise from humidifiers is water leaving the tank into the base, and air entering the water tank. While you may hear this noise at first, as the humidity in the air increases, the noise will lessen and lessen.
