Q: Why would no filter work well with smoke? If it filters down to a small enough size it will eliminate smoke, won't it? We're not talking about gases, after all, right? Just solid particles in the air generated from combustion. Best with a pre-filter.

A: When there was an air quality warning as a result of the forest fires, we did not notice any smoke smell in our home using this filter.

A: The higher the better filtering, but no filter works great to eliminate smoke smell from forest fires, however, if filter it is on your air intake to building and all building windows closed and using air conditioning, this may help to reduce smell/poison in air.

Q: I notice they don't tell us what particle size it filters down to. Isn't that the whole point? Doesn't everything hinge on that one factor? What else is there? Its a filter. So what does it filter? How can they possibly leave this out?

Q: With the smoke from wildfires many people are considering temporary low cost options, especially if they already have a fan lying around. Its best to use a pre-filter though, then a high grade filter after, then placed on the intake of the fan.

A: Great concept, best to check with the manufacturer of the fan to ensure the airflow restriction created will not cause any issues to their unit.
