Q: Does this AC come with a window kit to fill in gaps around the the window opening - top and sides?

A: Windows have various designs. Some panes move up and down, some from side to side. This unit is targeted at the up and down type. If the window is wider than the unit you'll have to measure and cut a piece of material to block the opening beside the unit (I painted highly reflective white on the outside of 1/4" plywood (a clear polycarbonate sheet could be used but that would let the sunlight in which would heat the room contrary to the cooling purpose of the unit (important if your window is South facing (and you live in the northern hemisphere of the planet)))). If your window moves from side to side you'll need to prepare and install a sheet of something to fill the opening above the unit. In any case there is enough material supplied to seal the cracks on all sides of the unit and around the blocking pieces.

Q: is it possible to put it at vertical?

A: I don't know if it can be mounted vertically. I rather doubt it as the flow of liquid probably depends on gravity for proper operation. Also: My window was not designed for this model so I had to cut some plywood to seal around it. I also painted the outside of the plywood white so as to reflect more of the sunlight heat.

A: Sure you can, I did. My window is too small to use curtains (accordion panels). I did use 2 pieces of heavy cardboard (about 1 1/2 inch wide each side) to close little gap and some tape as seen in picture. Your millage may vary ;-)

Q: How do you clean the filter? I feel like I may break it, where exactly do I pull from the front?

A: You’ll find an area to grip the front grill just to the left of the NOMA label on the left and side, and another on the right-hand side. Open the grill, and you can remove the filter, and use dish soap and water to gently clean it. Let dry before reinserting it.

Q: How do you open the front panel to clean the filter? The manual says open the front panel but it seems that if I pull on it, it could break. Model 043-5240-6

A: Finally figured out what the problem is. Had to use a magnifying glass and discovered a piece of white tape on both sides, in the same colour as the cabinet. Why the same colour? I'm old, my eyes are old. Old eyes Matter.

Q: what is this push and pull lever below the vent direction levers? The manual says nothing about it. Does it open to allow outside air in on cool night? Hopefully. It is not in the manual or mentioned anywhere
