I've bought several of these over the years. they usually work great at the start, but once they're a few months old they act up.
I need my diesel work truck to start when it's-30 and these things can't be trusted below -15 to work properly.
I've been forced to just plug in when I get home and burn power all night otherwise it's hit or miss if the timer will work.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: It’s super easy! Just make sure you pull up all the tabs all the way around the circle first. Then you push down on the times you want the lights/ timer to come on. Dark areas are denoted PM and Light areas AM. Then turn the wheel around to whatever the current time is and point the little arrow to current time. Whatever is plugged into the timer will come on/ go off at the same time.

A: Some versions of the product have a silver colored plug end which does not affected the functionality or the quality of the of the timer.

A: The dial plate in the middle of the timer is surrounded by 48 pins, each pin represents 30 minutes. "Time Now" is printed on the dial plate. When the "Time Now" arrow lines up with the time on the outer ring it indicates the current time.

A: Instructions: 1. To set the current time: rotate the dial clockwise until the time lines up with the TIME NOW arrove. Note, PM hours are shaded. 2. To program the timer: begin with all segment pins pulled up. Push the segment pins down for the periods of time you want the time to be ON. Each segmint pin represents 30minutes: 2 segment pins = 1 hour. Repeats daily. 3. To connect the timer: set the switch on the lower right of the timer dial to the position. Plug device in to the timer and turn the device on. Plug timer into wall outlet. 4. To override the timer: slide the switch on the lower right of the timer dial to the I position. When the I position, the plugged in device is switched on permanently. 5. In case of power failure: reset the current time and program the timer as explained in steps 1 and 2.

Q: Does it work outside? The lights always stay on (even when setting it during the day). It did work one time inside when connected to a lamp, but it does not work outside when connected to the extension cord attached to our new LED lights.

A: If it worked indoors, it should work outdoors as well. There could be a couple of different issues. 1. The outside outlet isn’t grounded or operational? 2. The extension cord has an issue? We suggest you take it back to your local Canadian Tire store with your receipt if you are still within the one year exchange warranty.
