Q: Bought this a day ago and it keeps switching off randomly. Room temperature has definitely has not yet reached desired temp. How do it fix this?

A: From what I saw in the instruction book they briefly mention heating up to I believe 86F. On any AC unit I've bought in the past I never used this feature. From my understanding, if you set the temperature higher than the room temperature it would start to heat rather than cool. I have been told the heating function on these types of units is more passive than active, unless you buy an AC unit that can work as a reverse heat pump. These are usually very expensive compared to the price for this one. I would try to call their support line if you are very concerned about heating from this this type of AC unit. In a portable AC unit it would obviously be more efficient to use a space heater than use a compressor system with a Freon circulation to heat a room. I bought two of these AC units about a week ago. They've been working very well for cooling. The two units are cooling down a 4 1/2 room apartment. One is in the living room and one is in the hallway. I am blowing the hot air in to a storage room. I made an adapter to allow me to blow the hot air through the door of the storage room. The storage room is reaching about 45C to 50C when the AC compressor is running. The two together are working very well for me.
