Q: How to I free up the plunger that is seized in the tube? When I started to take the pump apart, I found a spring at the bottom. Where does it go?

A: Remove the part where the hoses connect. Using an air compressor give the end a good hard blast of air. This will free up the plunger. I would reassemble the other end first in this order. Spring first it sits on top of the plunger then the locking cap then the handle. If you enlarge the picture you will see where the spring goes

Q: Would this be suitable for removing DEF from a Large Tote (100 Gal +)

A: If you need to accurately remove a measured portion of DEF Fluid, less than 500ml, from the tote, then yes, this would be suitable. However, we suspect you would be removing larger volumes. For this application, we would prefer to recommend a siphon pump.

A: The 10.82” (27cm) refers to the size of the tank/container. It is the length of the tank, not the diameter. The Tubing in this product is to extract and transfer fluids.

Q: Will the provided tubes fit down the dipstick tube of 3.0 liter merc marine??

A: The diameter of both tubes on the MotoMaster Fluid Transfer Pump (0283047) are 3/8” (inner diameter) and 12mm (outer diameter. If the user intends to fit a tube down the dipstick tube of a 3.0 liter merc marine. The diameter of that tube should be 4 mm (inner diameter) and 6 mm (outer diameter). This means that this tube will not work for your purpose.
