Recommend warm environment

First one didn’t work had to exchange for a second one. The cables become very stiff when cold then where cables connects to alligator clips the connection bends back and forth and will break in time., if used outside in cold weather. Had to tye wrap cables to prevent this from happening. Other wise seems to work as advertised

Returning the fourth charger for a fifth one.

Martin again with another review because the fourth one has now failed and I'm about to take it back for a fifth one. As other reviewers have stated they have a lifespan of somewhere between 6 and 18 months and then they just quit.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I purchased one and used it maybe 15 times in less than 2 years before it failed. CT replaced it under warranty. One year later the replacement failed.
In my opinion this unit is not reliable.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Has anyone unit charged a regular lead acid automotive or 12 V deep cycle battery at 16 volts?? I've had two of these chargers do this to 3 seperate batteries. 16V seems high. Batteries were both new

A: I figured it out boys! Right in the instruction manual too who would know! I was having issues with this unit charging at 16.5V and overcharging my batteries. You need to first connect the charger to the battery using the positive and negative leads, and then plug the charger into the AC outlet. It seems to charge at 13 to 13.5v now no problem.

Q: How long after the 100% charge does the green light turn on? I have it on charge at the 15/40 amp for 3.5 hours and it shows 100% charge but the green light isn't on.

A: Hi to anyone who's having this problem, i had to exchange for a new unit. Guess i had a faulty one out of the box. The green light indeed comes on after the charger hits 100% on the new one.

Q: When using the Eliminator is it better to disconnect & remove the battery from the vehicle to desulfate it or can I leave it in?

A: In that situation, I’d remove it from the vehicle or at least make sure there is room above for gassing.

Q: How do you switch from 15 amp to 40 amp? There's only one button to select for that range but I can't find any instructions in the manual on how it works

Q: What is the wattage requirement for the AC input for 125A Engine Start feature? I do remote camping with a generator and want to ensure generator can run the engine start feature for emergency situations.

A: This model will not draw more than the standard household current. You can easily run this unit with a 2500-watt generator. Please call customer support at 800-621-5485 if you have further questions about this product.

A: If using only the charging modes (i.e. not the 125A Engine Start feature), this charger will draw/require a maximum of about 700 watts to operate.

Q: Can you use this battery charger as a trickle charger connected to your terminal and ground while you change out a Mercedes AGM battery ? Most places online say to connect a trickle charger to keep the memory of the cars computer while you change it.

A: While this product would not be suitable for your memory saving application, there as any other number of possible options such as: - 011-3006 OBDII-type Memory Saver - One end plugs into your OBDII port while the other end can be plugged into another 12V power source such as a booster pack or, if paired with accessories such as 011-3014 or 011-3015 can be connected to another standalone 12V battery or to another vehicle's 12V outlet. - 011-1954 OBDII Maintainer Connector - Paired with the Supply Mode of 011-1969 MotoMaster Eliminator Precision Series Charger. - Finally, because your vehicle actually has remote jump start posts to which you can easily connect to while working on the battery) you can consider any battery charger with a supply mode, such as the aforementioned 011-1969 MotoMaster Eliminator Precision Series Charger or it's more powerful big brother 011-1970. Or the NOCO Genius 2, 5 or 10 models.
