I have a laptop that uses a 65W power adapter and this power inverter has difficulty charging it. It overheats/shuts off after a few minutes. I have another Canadian Tire inverter that works flawlessly but this new one is a dud. I would return it but live too far away from a Canadian Tire.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Works for what I wanted.

I purchased this to power my laptop or tablet in the car and it does this very well without taking up a lot of space. I haven't tried using the USB port so can't comment on that part of it.

Q: Flashes red
I plugged in my laptop and the inverter, it stopped working. The light flashes red/blue. What does this mean? The fuse looks fine.

A: Looks like overload shutdown happened. For the model before 2012, the continuous power is 80W, some specific laptop need higher power to run. So we suggest to replace a higher wattage one like 150W Inverter.

Q: Can I use the 100w inverter with my travel kettle which is 100-127volts? The blue light flickers between blue and red when I plug it in.

A: It's not very likely. I'm guessing that your kettle, since it uses household voltage, uses 1000 watts or more of energy (mine uses 1500 watts) and this inverter will only deliver 80 watts continuously.

A: Yes, the inverter is with the fan built-in. The fan starts to run when significant power on the internal temperature exceeds its ambient operating temperature.
