Great motor
a year ago
I use it on my Alumacraft V16 (semi deep v). I really like the variable speed, and being able to adjust the angle of the handle. Variable speed helps the battery last a long time

Q: is this motor apporpiate to power my 15' aluminum boat in a small lake. Used for visiting other cottages and trolling.

A: You will not be going any where fast. We have ours on a 10ft 2 person inflatable. Top speed is around 7-10 kms per hour. It is a trolling motor. I think it is too small for your boat.

A: I've been using this one and other Minn Kota motor for years, under the rain and letting the motor on the boat days and nights without problem related to waterproofing. So I'd say yes!

A: a 650 Ah battery would be over 500 pounds and 4 adults in a 12 foot!!! That boat will swamp and sink. Just saying

Q: There's some confusion about what prop comes with this motor. The photo on the CT website seems to show a "weedless wedge 2" prop. Is that the prop that's really included? The Minn Kota website seems to indicate you get a "power prop". Thanks for help.

A: The Traxxis 55 currently comes with MKP-37 Power Prop. That can be changed out for the MKP-32 Weedless Wedge 2 (sold separately) if desired.
