GOD DRIVE RULES!

Have had this for over a year, has been a total game changer. Fishing alone no fighting the wind. Fish on no worries about sudden direction changes. Even with two in the boat, hands free control while fishing can’t be beat. Just set it and forget it.

Danger: Update

I bought my Minn Kota I pilot over a year ago, very happy with the performance and the I-Pilot software on my smartphone. But, when I opened it recently, it said "Update Available", and I downloaded the update, which wiped out all the previous version, including the pairing and registration. Dead motor, no bluetooth link, no connection between phone, ap and motor. Ruined a day at the lake.
Minn Kota - do better.
No, I do not recommend this product.

It trolls so slowly and quietly, you don't realize it's moving. The remote is touchy & gets a bit getting use to, but after the first day, it's a breeze. Trolled on the lake when it was starting to white cap and the motor handled it with no problem as I just increased the speed. Should have bought this yrs ago. We put the remote in a ziplock bag as I don't know if it's waterproof when we aren't using it.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A: No fishfinder is needed for spot lock. Motor has built in GPS and spot lock is controlled with handheld remote. Works great in current or wind!

Q: With the Mini Kota power drive v2 I-pilot bow mount installed, is it possible to remove the trolling motor when not in use from the bow and just leave the base; or is it permanently attached? thanks very much

A: The motor is not removable from its' base. A: Hi, use mine on a 17’ Legend with a 90HP and it holds it pretty good, haven’t been out in a heavy currant but have been out in some wind and holds great.

A: canadian tire couldnt get me the minn kota.I never purchased it from them.I had ordered it twice both times waited 18 days for delivery.The first order I was emailed on the 17th day to advise they couldnt supply .very poor customer service. the second time i ordered i waited 22 days for an update on my order and received nothing.Very poor customer service.Now im getting this email to answer your question because i purchased a powerdrive from them??? They seem to be very confused and their system extremely broken.

Q: I just purchased this model (Product #178-2263-0) in store and it came with a foot pedal and no remote. Everything indicates that it should have a remote but it does not. Why doesn't it have a remote?

A: It shows iPilot on the CTC website, it shows iPilot on the box, it even had a quick start guide for the remote inside the box, yet there was no remote. Luckily the nice people at Smiths Falls CTC had another package with the exact same product# that does have a remote. I still had to take time off work and drive an hour both ways to exchange the units, so I'm still not that happy. Some sort of compensation for the inconvenience would be nice.

Q: Will this basically be plug and play if I’m removing my old power drive V2 to replace with this Ipilot edition? I do not currently use a quick release plate it’s permanently mounted. Thank you

A: Installation would be very similar to you existing Powerdrive V2. The motors have the same hole patterns and presummiung, they are both 12 volts, the same power requirements.
