Good product but NOT A POWERDRIVE V2

It's a good trolling motor, but IT IS NOT A POWERDRIVE V2. Canadian Tire call it V2, but according to the Minn Kota website Model 1358737 is a Power Drive (Legacy).
If you buy the V2 Co-Pilot system (as I did) you will have to dismantle it and reinstall the components in the motor housing.
I suspect that other V2 accessories would require modification (or may not work at all).

Purchased my power drive on July 3rd, i installed it just fine but quickly realized that some parts were broken and looked bent. Super frustrating to not have a workable unit.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: This unit does not have i-Pilot. I wanted the same thing. I ended up having to buy an upgrade kit for $600. I would suggest getting the one equipped with i-Pilot.

A: Yes, it can be! And, the mounting bracket comes in 2 pieces, one that attaches to the boat, and one that attaches to the trolling motor.

A: We recommend at least 2 lbs. of thrust for every 100 lbs. of weight. I would recommend at least 80 lbs. of thrust for a boat that size.

Q: How many volts does it take to run the V2, Bluetooth MinnKota ? (12) volts (24) volt ? Is it Bluetooth, so my iPhone will operate, the motor

A: Bluetooth is not an option on the Powerdrive V2. The voltage of the motor depends on how many pounds of thrust it is. 55 lbs. of thrust or less are 12 volts. More than 55 lbs. of thrust are 24 volts.

Q: The Bluetooth feature is not explained .And questions asked here on this Q&A say BOTH yes and no . Canadian Tire says you CANT use your phone to control motor BUT MinnKota says you CAN ? Can anybody owning this motor Confirm YES or NO ?

A: Connecting via Bluetooth wireless and control of the motor via a smart phone is only possible on units designated as having Bluetooth i-Pilot. The i-Pilot kit referenced here is the first generation of i-Pilot and is not Bluetooth compatible.
