A: Probably for a specific model where it is not needed and does not fit if you keep it. I am using this filter with a Shopvac brand and I need to keep the locking lid even if it does not lock.

Q: Is the purpose of using this filter cartridge when you don't have an actual ShopVac filter bag for drywall dust? In other words, should you have the filter bag then this cartridge is then NOT needed? Thank You, MJ21

A: I use both. Filter bag does not always fit perfectly and breaks when it becomes heavy, so this cartridge acts as a backup second filter. Theorically it is not needed though.

Q: Will this fit my 45.5L Mastervac Wet/Dry Vacuum (54-0010-8)? I have an older Mastervac that I used to buy Dirt Hound filters (DHF5000) for. Are these a direct replacement for those filters?

A: Our Maximum filter 54-0255 could not fit for the old Mastervac (54-0010-8). 54-0010-8 need a long and thin filter to fit with.

A: Thanks for reaching out. You can clean this cartridge by gently tapping or brushing the dirt off. This cleaning should not be done in living areas. For optimal performance, purchasing a new filter is recommended.
