Q: I bought this kit but neither one of the tap wrenches seems to fit the smaller taps. Am I missing something? The taps sized 8/32 and smaller have a square end which can't be secured in the wrench, it is too loose.

Q: How do I get a replacement T-Handle tap wrench without going into the four kits in stock at my local Cdn Tire store to look for one that isn't crooked?

A: I was told by MAXIMUM that because it doesn't have a part number the whole kit would have to be brought in for exchange. I asked Cdn Tire about just replacing the T-wrench, they looked through three boxes, all were crooked. They told me it was probably a batch problem (Batch 4381 302018) and they would bring it up to management. I will wait until the batch number changes before going to get a replacement.

Q: the only complaint seems to be the storage trays, is this product being revised CT? I want to buy a set, but need to know if the storage is under review. reading the reviews it seems to be the only thing wrong with this awesome set is the plastic storage trays....

A: Just bought one of these, the trays seem better than other trays for tools. When mine get to the point where they are deteriorating, I place a suitable sized piece of plywood on top and flip the whole thing over. Then use rattle can foam to fill the voids on bottom of tray. Any overflow is then cut away. I have not had them fail on any that I have done this on. These trays fit with fairly close side tolerance and therefore care would be required to prevent sideway expansion of foam. Good luck

Q: What do I do when a die is dull/worn? The thread comes out considerably unsized and stripped

A: A tap can be sharpened; however this is a skill that you won't pick up over night. A dull die means its time for a new one. Even when used correctly, sometimes with cheap steel you can get hard spots which are hard on taps and dies. Also make sure the hole or shaft size is correct. One turn in, a quarter turn back, don’t just try to cut all at once. Use oil also. Stainless will be difficult and takes much more care.
