I appreciate the fact that not all the outlets are together. gives me the option to move some of the wider plugs into different outlets, yet this is still compact enough to hide behind furniture. If you can get these while on sale, you will definitely not be dissapointed.

A: This surge protector is for indoors only. I think using it in a dry garage would be okay. I’m sorry I don’t know if there’s an outside one but I think not.

Q: I asked about the labels on the box vs the sticker on this product. The answer was that the 400V rating on the box was correct v the surge protector sticker stating it's voltage protection. So its 400V and the rating sticker on the device itself is wrong?

A: This item can't be used on a 240V source. There is an overload protection on it. It can only be used under 15A, 125V, 1875W.

Q: I just purchased a Mastercraft 6 -outlet surge protector with 6 foot cord. The reason is I need it to plug in my new upright freezer. Then instructions state not to use an extension cord for freezer. Is this surge protector safe? is it 15 guage?

A: The powerbar is meant for temporary use as defined by the CEC (Canadian Electrical Code). The upright freezer instruction manual states that you are not to use an extension cord. This is because the extension cord is meant for temporary use, too. Neither of these items (extension cord or powerbar) are a replacement for the outlet connected to the branch circuit that is in the home. The outlets in a home are designed for permanent installation of equipment and appliances. Extension cords and powerbars are considered a temporary extension to the branch circuit and should not be used for this application as instructed by the upright freezer’s manufacturer. If an outlet is required where the freezer will be placed we recommend contacting a licensed electrician to have one installed.
