Good as long as you realize the limits.

This snow blower works well on fluffy light snow and even on somewhat heavy snow. It is not meant for breaking through ice mounds left by plows. The batteries last enough to do about 150' of sidewalk and 4 car spaces of driveway with medium snow and still have a bit of charge left. Even though it has metal in the auger it is not all metal nor is it sturdy and hitting a piece of ice caused it to get bent out of balance. Since the metal is so frail, I was able to bend it mostly back into shape with pliers. The chute isn't well engineered so lots of snow falls through the cracks and all over the machine, but I haven't had any problem turning the direction (mentioned by others). I did have a problem with the holes for the direction control shaft not lining up but I drilled a new hole and that worked. Another point to consider is that this is made for people 6 feet and under. If you are taller you will be hunched over a bit. This could be fixed by having a longer handle and adjustable holes so that it had a wider range of length to use. Also, the handle is a thin, somewhat flimsy metal tube that doesn't feel very sturdy. Flat surfaces are much easier than uneven surfaces. Cracks in sidewalks catch it easily and if you have gravel you may not like how it works on it. Over all, though, it clears snow well enough for me and it saves back strain. I did 3/4 of a neighbour's sidewalk in the time it took him to do 1/4 with his shovel. Also, a small thing, the words/numbers on the machine are just stickers and they are falling off after a couple weeks in the cold.

Yes, I recommend this product.

No Dependability and No Refund!

Bought it last week and used it one day and the next day it would not work. Seemed to be a problem with the "on" switch and one of the batteries. Returned it to Canadian Tire within a few days of buying it but they would not give me a refund, only an exchange or gift card. I did not want to exchange it because I do not trust that this machine would be dependable. Now I an stuck with about $800 worth of Canadian Tire gift cards.

Poorly built

If you are trying to move a lot of snow, the batteries do not last. I used this snowblower maybe 4 times, the last time I hit a little ice in the snow and it bent the propeller. I previously had a Toro for 12 years and it would go through anything. Mastercraft builds great tools but not a snowblower. It was only 2 months old so I returned it and got a better machine. They were very helpful at CT on Rymal in Hamilton/Stoney Crees

No, I do not recommend this product.

Love it

My initial thoughts on the recently acquired snow blower. Thus far, it has performed admirably and appears to meet all the advertised specifications. The unit has handled the recent snowfall with considerable efficiency. I have been impressed with its power and ease of operation. Based on my experience to date, I feel confident in recommending this model. I will continue to monitor its performance through the winter season.

Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Q: What voltage does the electric motor run at? 20 volts or (the batteries hooked up in parallel) or 40 volts ( the combine battery voltages in series).

1 Answer
  • A: Dunno.  But both batteries need to be in to run it, and it has enough power to throw heavy wet snow, or crusty snow with ice chunks.  Worked fine all last winter.

Q: I have a double driveway and I only got one side blown out, and when turn it off to go up the other side, it didn't turn back on again. I took the batteries out and the charger turned green for both of them. Why did it stop working on me ?

  • A: UPDATE: I got it working again, just a bit tricky with the handle position while using the start button.

Q: Est-ce que cette souffleuse a neige peut aussi enlever la neige dure et lourde?

Translate with Google
1 Answer
