Q: One review states that this lock prevents theft. It implies that the bar can be locked to prevent theft. Is this true? (No statement to this effect in the product description) If so, how does the unit prevent theft? (eg, is there a key?)

1 Answer

A: This receiver pin is a non-locking version. There is no security measure built in that would prevent theft. If you require a locking version please visit your local Canadian Tire store where we have a wide assortment of locking receiver pins that may better suit your needs.

Q: what is the piece of wire that comes attached to the pin? There is a piece of wire that is attached to the head of the pin; the pin can't go in the hitch with the wire still on it, but the wire looks like it is supposed to be doing something?

A: This cable wire should be removed prior to use. It is part of the packaging design and serves no function to the pin.
