Q: Does the rim size make a difference on choosing a tire, in other words if you have a 2.25 mountain tire but are now riding on the road more and want a 2.125 cruising tire, will you have problems putting it on the rim?

A: No, no problem. New cruising tire is thinner than mountain tire so it will fit. One concern: will thinner comfort tire seal properly? New tire is only 3 mm thinner. Charts that I consulted said both old & new tire will fit on same rim if the rim interior width (side to side) is 25 mm or 9.84 inches. Hope this helps.
