Cooling does not work, heating is fine.

This is the second one that I have bought in the past 4 months. Neither one works for the cooling. It works fine for heat, but it does not respond when I set it for air conditioning.

Bad thermostat

2.5 months and not working. Will turn on blower but not the furnace.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Simple and Perfect … butt

This is what it looks like and what it says. A very nice stylish and solid Honeywell quality simple round thermostat.
Only 5 - 10 minutes to install. Turn the knob to set temperature. Turn the knob to warmer, room gets warmer. Turn the knob to cooler, room gets cooler.
Note: This thermostat works off of the typical 24v signal power from the furnace or boiler. It does not work off of basic thermocouple. It requires that line power to charge up the mini circuit board inside. There is no tip/mercury component in this one. It is fully electronic and needs that signal to power it.
Greatest feature - NO batteries.

Misleading and Over-Engineered Product

I thought I was buying a simple, non-digital thermostat, but nowhere does it mention that this thermostat is digital. The box also doesn't say anything about needing a battery or letting a super capacitor charge up before the thermostat will work. It also doesn't mention the operating voltages. My furnace operates at 12 volts, but this thermostat requires 24 volts. They managed to make something as simple as a two-wire switch as complicated as possible. Good job over-engineering the simplest thing. Oh, and it's not even the same color as what is displayed on the box. I thought I was buying the classic thermostat from 30 years ago, but this product is not what I expected

A: This thermostat is not suitable for electric heat, it is a low voltage thermostat.

Q: I have a similar unit for a baseboard heater that needs to be replaced. On another site a similar model specification said the unit could not be used for baseboard heating. Can this unit work on baseboard heaters?
