The HE240 Whole House Humidifier is easily installed on your current furnace by mounting on either the warm air supply or return air duct of forced-air furnaces to distribute moisture throughout your home

This wastes a tremendous amount of water. The pad clogged after 2 months and caused water to leak out of the housing all over the floor. Constant pad replacement , water wastage and damage make it very costly. I will have to eat the cost after only 2 months and look for a drum type.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Caution - Faulty Pressure Switch

This unit requires you to connect a grommet to the suction side of the furnace so the pressure switch recognizes that the furnace turns on. After less than a week of use the pressure switch was faulty leaving the Humidifier water supply to constantly be on, this is a huge risk for potential flooding and property damage! My furnace is equipped with an output for a humidifier so I bypassed the pressure switch and used the signal from the furnace to control the humidifier. Strongly suggest to investigate if your furnace has such an output, I’ve heard these pressure sensors always fail in an on state leaving the water to constant flow across the evaporative media.

nous avons un maison d'un étage et demi et l'hiver l'humidité était de 10%, nous avions un humidificateur portable qui était sensé convenir pour la maison au complet mais elle était très bruyante et nous devions la remplir au 24h mais jamais notre humidité n'a monté au dessus de 15% avec le modèle portable. Nous étions septique au début d'acheter cette appareil, car il fallait tout de même faire un trou dans notre système central, mais finalement l'installation a été facile et dès les 2 première heure l'humidité avait déjà augmenter de 10% !! maintenant la maison ce maintient aux alentours de 30% d'humidité et n'avons plus de statique lorsqu'on touche à n'importe quoi!! c'est merveilleux :)

A: It runs the solenoid valve for the water supply off a regualr 120 volt outlet. Just need one plug to run this unit.

Q: Does the water sit in the unit anywhere? does water sit stagnant anywhere in this unit? I am looking for a unit that sprays or releases the water and it doesn't sit anywhere in the Humidifier other than the hose where the water comes from. Thanks

Q: How does it work? New to this idea.. I use regular humidifiers.. Found this one but am totally confused on how it works. Does it need to be hooked up to a water source? And can it be drained in other ways other than using a sump pump?

Q: What is the HE240 solenoid part number? Our solenoid appears to be shot after 2 years of use and I'm wondering if it's more cost effective to replace the solenoid, or if we're better off just getting a new humidifier. I can't seem to find the part number anywhere.

A: Yes the fitting are similar between the 2 models. You will only need to drill new holes to fix on the duct when you secure the humidifier housing.
