Concerns....TERMS AND AGREEMENTS ?? REALLY ??

Indicator lights are too small. Cleaning process is directly related to the quality of water one uses. Too much iron in some municipalities causes constant cleaning.

works great to add humidity, fan on high could be quieter but other than that the Honeywell works!

we have had and used this in the new Suite we just got in November as it was dry. It has made a difference and i like these filter type rather then the sonic as they leave no residue and add the moisture to the air. there is a bit of noise that is noticeable in the back ground on high, on low setting you can not hear it, only has the two choices so this is the only down fall of this product.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Nice Humidifier with a Blue Error

The humidifier works well and keeps the humidity where we want it. Easy to use and the site window allows viewing the water level. The problem is that a blue light is included to allow for easy viewing of the water level. In a dark room while trying to sleep, the blue light is very bright. Blue light is the wake up colour; the light should be a soft red and it should have an on/off switch.

Questions

Q: Does this unit use a filter?

3 Answers
  • A: No filter But it does have a sponge type wick that aids the evaporation of the water. My wick collects the minerals from the water and should be replaced every 3 months of active use.

  • A: If you take the top off you can see the little light. It's easy to cover with some electrical tape.

Q: How often does the filter need to be replaced?

  • A: I recommend turning the filter upside down once a day. This helps keep the top of the filter from drying out. I think this makes the unit work more efficiently and I might even help prolong the life of the filter.

Q: I use one in my 4 1/2 apartment. It's good, but of course I would like more humidity for my entire apt. Could I buy another one of these to improve humidity in my 4 1/2? Where would I put them strategically?

2 Answers
  • A: Hi -- if you're still thinking about it, yes, you could add another humidifier. Evaporative humidifiers like this will only add humidity up to a certain point, and then no more water will evaporate into the air, so they're kind of self-regulating. So adding another one won't likely mean more humidity, but it may mean you get to that max point more quickly and stay there more often, and with two in your apt it will mean the sources of humidity will be spread out evenly. I'd put one near your bed for nighttime breathing ease, and the other closer to the other end of your space, especially if you spend most of the day there.

Q: How often should we change the air filter?

2 Answers
  • A: It is recommended that the wicking filter be changed every 1-2 months depending on water quality and usage. The filter performance tends to diminish with higher mineral content of the water or the amount of airborne dust in the environment. Assuming the humidifier is used according to the usage and care instructions in the owner manual, we suggest looking for the following signs that indicate a need to change the filter - discolouration of the filter, that suggests a buildup of impurities and minerals - a noticeable decrease in humidifier output - holes or tear in the filter - the top surface of the wicking filter is not moist to touch We also recommend using the appropriate Honeywell filter with this unit. The use of any other Wicking Filters may lead to sub-standard performance.
