First there should be more of a selection of sizes. And second, one broke as it was being installed. Thank God I could reposition it and start again. But still, a little flimsy/soft material

Make sure you buy extra!

Although these look like the “brand name” screws, I found the latest batch did not perform well. Out of the package of 8, one broke off and two heads stripped before fully tightened. I used a Bosch Bulldog drill with a Bosch SDS plus bit, and both Bosch and Dewalt impact drivers. I have not had this issue before, so will avoid Hillman in the future. Incidentally, they cost the same as Tapcons now, so save your money and frustration. If you must use these, buy twice as many as you think you will need

Hex heads screws work best on concrete.

I highly recommend Hillman Hex Head Concrete Screws. The bonus is that you can tighten them with a socket wrench without the tool slipping off or stripping the screw head that happens often with a Philips head and even a Robertson head.
