These may be the worst anchors I've ever used. The zip tie thing fell off of the first 3 I tried to use before I even got the screw in dropping the metal anchor into my wall.

When this works it works really well to help mount heavier objects to the wall when for one reason or another the stud isn't an option.
Where it falters (as seen in many, many reviews) is how finicky the strap is holding the anchor. I had zero trouble getting the plastic plug in place and tightening the anchor, it was when I was then screwing in the bolt that I had multiple failures of the strap causing the anchor to drop inside the wall. This was due to the second screw/anchor being about 1/16th of an inch off centre due to the shelf itself. If you have a totally straight insertion you won't have issues, but the strap is too weak and breaks easily if there's any angle whatsoever. I finally was able to get the 6th attempt in on the troublesome side by changing the angle multiple times until I found one that would not cause the strap to shear at the anchor.
I love the style of anchor but it looks like Hillman needs to rework this product.

Awful - Tie wrap is dried out and breaks as

Absolutely awful - lost about 5 of them in my wall before I gave up and bought another type with 2 tie wraps to the anchor. The tie-wraps on the Hillman are dried out and will break as you're inserting the anchor through the wall. Also, if you're lucky enough to get one through - forget about threading/aligning. With one tie wrap this is impossible - if you can visualise, the anchor "tilts" away from the incoming screw
