STOPPED WORKING AFTER ONE USE!

Like others, I am a woman and did not want the hassle of a gas-powered snow blower. This one had really good reviews, particularly from folks that live in heavy snow areas like I do. I used it ONCE and it worked fairly well. We actually got about 12-14 inches of snow and I was able to clear areas with two-three passes of the snow blower. I actually stopped because it was so much snow that I needed help, so I didn't even clear my entire driveway. Just about a 9x9 space to get my car out. That was about two weeks ago. Went to use it this morning to clear about 3 inches of snow and nothing. It won't turn on. COMPLETELY disappointing because based on other comments it's going to be a bigger issue to have it repaired. As a note, I purchased the blower on December 23, 2022. Today is January 20, 2023. Not even a month of service from this blower.
ProsConvenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent Machine - and I have experience with similar from other companies

Ok so I bought this unit after first buying a Snowjoe SJ627E (15 Amp) and an Earthwise corded similar machine. I returned both of these for a few reasons (SJ scraper blade broke on first use and I could not get another, EW started vibrating violently on first use for no apparent reason). The Greenworks did my whole driveway (which is about 200 feet long and turns right at the bottom and switches to a double car width) without even the slightest issue. Here’s my key take away that I want to let shoppers know: the 13 Amp v 15 Amp debate is bunk. This Greenworks machine has at least as much power as the SJ and the EW has (both 15 Amp machines) and Greenworks threw the snow at least as far. I just came in from my first use. So a few things. The asphalt on my driveway is really old and rough with a lot of uneven spots and cracks etc. The snow today was about 3 inches but it was heavily mixed with sleet and granular ice making It very heavy (one shovel full was about 20 pounds). I was fearful as many reviews said this machine would not work well with heavy wet snow. Well those reviews are bunk. This thing did my whole driveway without skipping a beat. Additionally, it threw this heavy wet snow easily 20 feet (See attached photo of the side of my house. Note the Black shutter and the snow on it - no snow on other shutters - and note that this is over a 4 foot high stone wall and another 15 feet diagonally up from there). Some other key points I noticed in my journey to get a good corded snow blower: 1) The Customer service at Greenworks is excellent 2) The Manual has a complete exploded view of the Machine with a complete parts list. 3) Parts can be looked up and order from a sister website 4) The wearable parts are priced very fairly 5) The 13 AMP v 15 Amp argument is meaningless – this machine has plenty of power 6) The Scraper blade design and integration into the machine (5 well placed screws) is excellent 7) The Plastic Auger is amazing (My driveway ate up the SJ rubberized Auger Paddles) – the Greenworks Auger did my whole driveway and post use inspection shows no damage and only a little wear. It even picked up a junk of asphalt, and despite my consternation, broke the junk into a few pieces, spit them out the chute, like a child dissatisfied with bits of broccoli in his Mac n Cheese, and kept going. I Highly recommend this machine and this after trying several other similar alternative machines which I returned for various reasons. Also - beware of reviews rating this based on thousand dollar machine comparisons. Bottom line is that for this price this machine does an excellent job hands down!

Yes, I recommend this product.

  • My Driveway including entrance where the town plow piled up snow
  • Zoom in and note the black shutter with snow - that's from the Greenworks machine

One Season Of Use For My Disposable Greenworks Snowblower!

I got this last christmas. It worked great and I loved it for one winter season. First real snow now this year...Jan 2022...and it is dead. There was nothing at issue in year one, but in year 2...seems like something electric...nothing, completely dead. As I said, good for one season and now just a worthless piece of plastic and metal. Not sure what to do with it now, but may try to investigate to see what is the issue, but very, very disappointed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Corded snow thrower with LED lights

My husband and I have ordered Greenworks tools and equipment in the past and we really like their products. A few weeks ago we decided to order a snow thrower to make cleaning our long driveway a breeze. It arrived just before the first substantial snowfall and I have to say it worked well. Assembling the snow thrower was easy and took only a few minutes (~15 minutes). It normally takes us about 45 minutes to an hour to shovel our driveway, but with our new toy it handled all the snow within about 15 minutes. This was our first time using a snow thrower so we weren't really sure what to expect, but I have to say that it handled less than 6 inches of wet snow very well. I don't know how well it handles compacted snow or large amounts (greater than 6 inches), because we've only used our thrower once so far but I plan to update this post once we've received more snow. (Also we used our snow thrower during the day so we really can't say much about the LED lights on our model. Our street is not very well lit so that's why we wanted a snow thrower with lights. Until we have a chance to use it in the dark we really can't attest to their usefulness.) I have to say so far we are very pleased and can't wait to order more Greenworks products.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great little machine

It's a small, lightweight electric blower. So don't expect huge gaspowered power... but it's great for what it is. I live in Northern Michigan. We just got 5" of snow. Plugged it in, pushed the button, pulled the bail and blew all 5" deep no problem.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: The Chute control rod does not rotate the discharge chute? We recently bought this snow thrower and when we snap the chute control rod in place, it does not rotate the discharge chute, is there anyway to fix this?

  • A: The rod has to fit into a "key hole" inside the housing. You may have to jiggle it a bit to fit.
