NOT recommended electrical is faulty!

Bought this last year and it has had serious electrical issues twice! They sent me a brand new unit last winter and I used it a couple times with no issues. This winter I used it twice for very light dry snow of about 2 inches. This morning halfway through doing my driveway only 2 inches of snow it makes a weird sound and just quits. Totally dead with no power at all!! Battery is still 90% good. I am done with this unit unfortunately as I quite liked it. Wiring and electrical issues - circuit board not sturdy at all

No, I do not recommend this product.

Not a reliable unit.

I purchased my first SNC407 snow blower in 2000 and it quit mid winter, they sent a replacement in the spring. I used the replacement 2 1/2 times and it died so now they are going to replace it the second time!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Punches above its weight

I've only used it twice. Once with slightly wet snow about 6 inches deep. It cleared it at a moderate pace. Today we had a record snowfall. Dry snow. Drifts up to 30 inches and more - about twice the height of the blower. The blower was up to the challenge - threw it far enough away. It took four battery charges to clear the snow on an average sized sidewalk and two-car driveway. If the snow were about 10 inches it probably would have cleared it in a single charge. Doesn't get five stars because the regular price is too high.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Bought this not long ago. Used it a few days ago for the our first snowfall. Worked great except... the snow chute at first turned fullt and then gradually reduced it's range that it can turn. Now it does not turn at all. Is there a remedy for this?

  • A: Called them. Tech assistant, Ryan, was very helpful. Sent power-point to make adjustments. 15 minutes later the unit was fully operational. Note, make sure to speak with technical assistance before any disassembly to prevent voiding your warranty.

Q: I am on Vancouver Island and the snow is very wet and heavy. Do you think this model will be strong enough for heavy, slushy snow?

  • A: The first time I used this was in wet thick ,slushy snow. To get the most out of it I shovelled a single shovel width down the driveway then approached the job with a 1/2 to 3/4 full width with the machine and it worked surprisingly well.

Q: When the battery is charged do I leave it on the charger or take it off.

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools

A: Hello Thomas, The battery chargers do have auto cut offs to prevent it from over charging. However, we do advise customers to remove the battery from the charger after it has been fully charged and to also unplug the charger from the outlet, as this is good electrical safety practice to do so. This will also help to prevent false defects reading and allows the charger to reset itself each time it’s used to charge a battery.
